What to expect
Crab Island is a submerged sandbar which is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The depth ranges from just a few inches to several feet.
How to get there
By boat only
With Crab Islands location there is no way to walk or drive there. You can access the sandbar by boat, jet skis or even paddleboards.
What to bring
Plan ahead
There will be many vendors on Crab Island with a wide range of food, drink, and apparel. But planning ahead will make your day more enjoyable. Sunscreen, snacks and drinks are always a good start for your list of what to bring.
Safety
Watch out for boats moving through the crowd
Don't assume boaters can see you. Between the crowds of people and boats along with wind and bright sun it is easy to not be seen.
Alcohol is NOT sold in the sandbar. If you want alcohol you will have to bring it with you.
